How to Be a Good Tenant in Bonita Springs, FL

Jay Berube - Wednesday, August 23, 2017

We are switching gears today and talking to tenants. Whether you’re trying to find a rental or you’re already in a property, being a good tenant is pretty similar to being a good landlord.

Reading and Listening

Tenants wanting to rent properties from good landlords need to read and listen. We write things down for a reason, and we do it to make sure everyone is on the same page. When you’re applying for the property, we send you detailed information with the application links, and we tell you what’s going to happen next. We ask you to read and print all of that, because it’s for your benefit. It makes sure the process goes smoothly. Along with reading comes listening carefully. We’re going to listen to your needs and what you expect all the time. Make sure as a tenant you’re following instructions and being responsive.

Communication

The most important thing in any relationship is communication. As soon as communication starts to break down, you will have problems. If there are any questions or you need something, our website has answers, and you can call or email us. We want to answer your questions and be communicative and responsive.

Do Your Part

Do your part. When we’re moving you into the property, we’ll go over everything. We will discuss the lease from start to finish and show you the expectations we have for the tenancy. We’ll do everything we say we’re going to do. If we don’t, you can let us know. But, we need you to do the same. Read the lease and understand it. If something comes up, reference the lease.

Doing What We Do Best

Let us do our job. Perhaps we are scheduling someone for maintenance at your home, and you really want to be there when the vendor is present. We understand that and we’re fine with it, but sometimes we need to get it scheduled quickly. Let us do the job, and if you have questions, we can talk about it and explain it to you.

We want to have a great relationship with you, and we want you to be a happy tenant. If you have any questions about being a good tenant, please contact us at Encompass Property Management. We serve Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and Lehigh Acres.
